Police confirmed the 25-year-old man arrested following an armed robbery in Pittsfield Township Monday also robbed a gas station in Ann Arbor Saturday and is a suspect in a Bay City robbery.
Ann Arbor Police Detective Lt. Robert Pfannes said police believe the 25-year-old Sebewaing, Mich., man robbed the BP gas station at 3720 Washtenaw Ave. Saturday afternoon. Police also believe the same man held up the BP station at 4975 Washtenaw Ave. with a shotgun on Monday morning.
Pittsfield Township police arrested the man after a short search Monday morning.
Pfannes said the man is being held in the Washtenaw County Jail while he waits to be arraigned on the charges. His arraignment could come Tuesday afternoon or on Wednesday, he said.
Details were not immediately available about the robbery in Bay City.
Police have now made arrests in all three armed robberies at gas stations that have occurred since Saturday.
A 29-year-old Ypsilanti Township man was arrested on suspicion of robbing the Shell gas station at 2991 S. State St. in Ann Arbor. Police Lt. Renee Bush said the man brandished a gun and took cash from the station.
The man fled in a minivan but was stopped by officers on patrol. The cash and the gun were both recovered, Bush said. It’s unknown what kind of gun was used in the incident.
The Shell gas station robbery suspect is expected to be arraigned on Wednesday, Bush said.
Bush praised officers work in the recent arrests.
“They’re doing a great job on patrol,” Bush said. “Just an awesome job on patrol.”
