This year's Ann Arbor Garden Walk will have something for everybody: chickens, bees, a marketplace with art and gift items. Oh, and gardens, lots of gardens.

Along with the expected gardens and landscapes will be rain gardens, lush shade plantings, recycled materials used in creative ways an array of hardscaping ideas. Hardscaping is the use of pavement, such as sidewalks, patios and retaining walls.

The six private gardens are located in the North Burns Park, Old West Side and Arbor Hills neighborhoods. The Greenview location will host the Garden Walk Marketplace, featuring a selection of both unusual and typical perennial plants. Artistica Gallery from Dexter will offer art and gift items by local and regional artists. Walkers will also find blown and fused glass art by Diane Irvine and Annette Baron and handmade paper items by Karen Koykka O’Neal.

Tickets are available at the gate or at Dixboro General Store, Downtown Home & Garden, Matthaei Botanical Gardens, and Nicola’s Books. A discounted rate of $10 per person is available to groups of 8 or more. Find garden descriptions, a map and additional information at www.annarborfarmandgarden.org.
