An asphalt re-paving project in Pittsfield Township will reduce a portion of Platt Road to one lane for a business week beginning Friday, according to the Washtenaw County Road Commission.
Work on Platt Road between Textile and Ellsworth roads is expected to take five business days, but the rainy weather this week could delay the project from beginning Friday.
Should there be additional rain Friday, the contractor Cadillac Asphalt LLC likely will begin work Monday on the roadway, said Gary Streight of the road commission.
Traffic on the road will be controlled by flaggers while work is occurring.
Asphalt resurfacing by the same contractor on two other Washtenaw County roads will be wrapping up soon.
Crews have been working to re-pave Dexter-Chelsea Road from Freer to Dancer roads since Aug. 3. Dexter-Pinckney Road from North Territorial Road to the Washtenaw County line at Livingston County also has been involved in an asphalt resurfacing project since Aug. 7.
Both projects should be completed within five business days of the start date, although Streight said rain could delay work.
