Traffic is backed up on northbound U.S. 23 east of Ann Arbor after a multiple car crash in the left lane, according to dispatchers.
Michigan State Police troopers were on scene at 5 p.m. Wednesday at northbound US-23 at Washtenaw Avenue for a crash involving either four or five vehicles. Dispatchers said the crash was blocking the left lane and causing a large traffic jam.
It was not clear if anyone was injured in the crash.
Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area if possible. There was no time estimate for when the vehicles may be cleared.
